Ghostie now lives at ghostie.app (v0.13.0)
Update feed → https://ghostie.app/appcast.xml. Control / kill-switch manifest → ghostie.app. In-app account, support, terms, and privacy links, plus site metadata, follow. messagesfor.ai stays live as an alias so v0.12 installs keep updating. If you are on v0.12, Check for Updates is the normal path. If you are on v0.11.3 or earlier, auto-update cannot reach you; download the DMG and replace your copy manually (see the v0.12 notes for why).
Remote access from your AI clients (v0.14.0)
Optional: connect a Ghostie account in Settings → Advanced to host a remote MCP from your Mac. Sign up by email and optionally add a passkey. Supported clients can read iMessage and WhatsApp conversations and stage text drafts for your review in Ghostie.
- You approve every send. Remote access cannot send, approve, schedule, or attach local files.
- Your Mac is the host. Remote access is unavailable when Ghostie is closed, your Mac sleeps, or the connection drops.
- Sensitive sign-in content is filtered locally. Ghostie hides suspected verification codes and sign-in links before returning results. Detection may miss unfamiliar formats.
- Connections use TLS encryption. The relay processes content in memory without intentional message storage or content logging. This is a trusted relay, not end-to-end encryption that hides content from the relay.
Also includes email sign-in fixes and static OAuth support for Claude and Cursor/Grok Bot. In Cursor/Grok Bot, use
public client ID ghostie-cursor, scopes messages:read messages:draft, and no client
secret. Remote hosting is optional.
Messages opener and Grok Bot link tooling (v0.15.0)
Public mobile Messages opener and a Grok Bot Messages link tool. Relay hardening on top: scope subsets, refresh tokens, queued calls, stale-socket replacement; a heartbeat on the Mac’s relay connection; and a higher per-host request limit for multi-persona clients.
